Almost all Microsoft Office versions including MS Office 2003, MS Office 2007, MS Office 2010 get updated via the Office Genuine Advantage Notifications (OGA KB949810). If you are using a pirated version, the OGA KB949810 finds it out and starts showing a “This copy of Microsoft Office is not genuine†notification in your system tray every time you open a MS Office program.
There are no working cracks for KB949810 currently but we can manually uninstall it and get rid of the trouble! Uninstalling does not mean that we can get rid of it from the “Add or Remove Programs” window. Use the following hacks given below to uninstall it.
How to Remove OGA Office Notification
1. Close all MS Office applications and then go to C:\Wndows\System32 and delete the files named “OGAVerify.exe” and “OGAAddin.dll”. Now open MS Office again and see the difference!
2. If the first doesn’t work even after a system restart, you can try this out! Go to C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download\8998da55d52b36c0e98ba016ddd50de0\ folder and extract OGANotifier.cab. Now uninstall OGANotifier.msi by right clicking the file and selecting “uninstall” from the drop down menu.
This file get installed each time you update so we recommend you to block automatic update installation.
