Apple has released iOS 5.1 beta 1 for developers. It confirms that the next major iOS update will be iOS 5.1. There is very limited information available yet about the improvements Apple brought in iOS 5.1 except some API changes and enhancements in iCloud support, but we are expecting some improvements in battery life as well. Its compatible devices include iPhone 4S, iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPad 2, iPad 1, and iPod touch 3G and 4G. iOS 5.1 beta 1 is just for developers and you must have an Apple’s developer account to download it from dev center. If you are not a developer then it is suggested that you don’t try out iOS 5.1 through any other sources.
iOS 5.1 Beta will expire on January 14, 2012 at 8:00PM (EST). This time, developers have plenty of time to explore iOS 5 beta 1 and help Apple to make it as perfect for general public as it can be.
After few hours of its release, folks at 9to5mac revealed that the most interesting part of iOS 5 beta 1 is that its code has clear references of the new iPad, iPhone and Apple TV models. Check out the screenshots.
There are strong chances that code name iPad 2,4 will be sprint CDMA version of iPad 3G.
Upcoming iPhone 5,1 will surely contain just internal changes . We can easily predict it from the fact that Apple also gave the code name iPhone 4,1 to iPhone 4S which is just internally changed from iPhone 4.
J33 is the code name Apple used for upcoming model of Apple TV. You can expect some exciting improvements in it in near future.
