Developer of TinyUmbrella, Notcom has upgraded the TinyUmbrella app to version 5.10.00. This latest version allows you to save the SHSH blobs on idevices running iOS 5.1 beta 1. Although the expiry date of iOS 5 beta 1 is too far yet, it is wise to save its SHSH blobs before the release of next beta version of iOS 5.1 because Apple won’t sign the previous beta version for long, after releasing the new one. To get back to that version again, you must have the SHSH blobs of previous version.
For those who are not aware of the importance of saving SHSH blobs, if you want to downgrade the iOS version running in your idevice, then you should have the SHSH blobs of the version in which you want to downgrade. Let’s take an example. If you want to downgrade to iOS 5.1 beta 1 after the release of iOS 5.1 beta 2, you have to have the SHSH blobs of iOS 5.1 beta 1. Otherwise it will not be possible and you will be stuck on iOS 5.1 beta 2.
So, if you are running your idevice on iOS 5.1 then save the SHSH blobs without any delay.
Here is the official description of Tiny Umbrella 5.10.00:
Before you ask; Yes a solution for the 5.x firmware nonce is being investigated… None of us have a working solution yet though. Hang tight.
I have a couple trails and ideas I am trying out for 4.x baseband based restores to avoid 10xx errors. Until then save your signatures as you will never know when they may come in handy…
Notcom also updated the status of upcoming Jailbreaking tool, TinyPwn.
TinyPwn update: I’ve not had much time in the past month to work on this. Real life drama, work, etc have taken much of my time. I still intend on a release… eventually… :P Effectively it’ll just have to be done when it’s done…
TinyUmbrella 5.10.00 is available for both major operating systems i.e. Windows and Mac. You can download for the appropriate OS from the links given below.
