Developers at XDA forum have gone one-step further making it possible for HD2 users to dual-boot Android and WP7. Previously HTC HD2 run Meego and Windows Phone 7 and now it was capable of running Android OS also. Folks at XDA have found out how to dual boot android and WP7 on HTC HD2.
Recently, HTC HD2 was found running on Android as well as Windows 7 together using two SD cards such as 8GB and 16GB, a microSD card reader, and partition software. Developers from XDA-developers forum used EASUS ALL-IN-ONE partition software which is available free to download at patition-tool.com.
With this dual boot for WP7 and Android , HTC HD2 users will be able to run the device over WP7 with OS being stored in NAND memory of the handset, while Android taking the backing of SD card, eventually leaving no option for both the OS to boot the OS using NAND memory of the device.
HTC HD2 is originally a WP7 based phone, with few of popular features like 8 hrs of video playback, Wi-Fi router, 5 MP camera, 4.74 inch capacitive screen etc. it is not yet clear that booting Android over HD2 offers results as compared to Android experience.
Meanwhile, caution is advised for users before executing any such dual-boot process, as generally playing with original OS of handset, often have some serious re-percussions attached to it, including the device turning brick as well.
