The rumor is really true. Google has picked Samsung instead of HTC to build the Nexus two for them! The Google Nexus Two looks a lot like the Samsung Galaxy S, but it has the curved edges like the iPhone 3GS. This is what Gizmodo’s source has to say about the Nexus Two:

“When I first saw it from 10 feet away, I thought it was the Galaxy S,” says our source, who got to handle one. “I was a little surprised it was the Nexus Two,” because it’s so different from the Nexus One.

There isn’t much changes to the hardware except for the 4-inch  Super AMOLED display and a secondary camera. Gizmodo’s  source isn’t sure about the hardware components but it seems to me that it has the CPU as well as the same RAM that runs the  Samsung Galaxy S. But it is indeed the first smartphone to run on Android 2.3 (a.k.a Gingerbread). This new member of the Google smartphone family is expected to be announced  at a conference on November 8, in New York City by Samsung and Google.

Google might integrate video chat to Google Talk on the Nexus Two to compete with Apple’s Facetime on iPhone 4 and iPod Touch 4g. We will soon update you about that!
