Last year, a pretty simple and easy one step jailbreak tool named JailbreakMe was released to jailbreak the iOS 4 / 4.0.1 firmwares. And after the userland exploit with which it worked was fixed in the next firmware update after iOS 4.0.1 (iOS 4.0.2), JailbreakMe did not have any updates at all. Users just had to browse to the JailbreakMe site on their device and just slide the option to start the jailbreak. It was perhaps, the easiest jailbreak tool ever released.
Now there are signs from JailbreakMe’s developer that it might get another update to version 3.0 from 2.0. Comex, the developer has updated the JailbreakMe site with a teaser image which also shows a writing ” PDF ” on it, which is pointing towards the possibility of an exploit based on PDF. And JailbreakMe 3.0 might in turn bring the iPad 2 jailbreak along with the iOS 5 jailbreak.
