The Mac OS X 10.7 Lion is the newer version of the previous Mac OS X Snow Leopard! It was announced by Apple CEO Steve Jobs, at the “Back to the Mac event”. Unlike Snow leopard, the Mac OS X 10.7 brings a lot of apps and features the iPod touch, iPhone and iPad to Mac OS X. Given below are the new features in the Mac OS X 10.7 Lion.
Mac App Store
The App Store which has been a huge success on the iOS is now coming to the Mac OS! It will certainly be a great success and many have been longing for this to happen sooner or later. Like the App Store in iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch, the apps can be downloaded by a single click, auto installed and auto updated. You can also go for paid apps or try out the free apps. Coming to the appearance, the Mac App Store looks almost the same as the App store we have seen in the iOS.
Launch Pad is a place dedicated to view all your installed apps in one go. It is very similar to the Springboard system for iOS devices. Folder are also supported in the new Mac OS X.
Expose, Dashboard, Dock, Spaces and apps can be viewed in a single screen. You can zoom out of your current screen to see all the running apps, dock etc!
Mac books is always known for their multi touch mouse pad or know as the touch pad. Â You can use three fingers to do this and four fingers to do that and all. It’s a great concept and makes web browsing in the Mac books a unique experience. The Mac OS X 10.7 Lion is going to feature a lot more of gestures than the snow leopard. We still did not receive information about these new gestures. We will update you as soon as we receive them.
It will be released during the summer of the upcoming year. Hope I get enough money to buy one within that short time!
