Few months back, Samsung came out with a new member to the galaxy series, the Galaxy Gio. It was shipped and is currently shipped with the Android 2.2 Froyo. And this leak of the Android 2.3.3 Gingerbread firmware for this device suggests that Samsung may come with an official release of Gingerbread for this device soon.

The handset was powered with android 2.2 and there was no mention about the update of  android 2.2 to android 2.3 Gingerbread at the time of its release. Then recently samsung announced the Android 2.3 Gingerbread update for a list of Galaxy branded handsets. But the release dates were not published officially. Now, the developers of samfirwmare.com had put their hands in the leaking of  Android 2.3 Gingerbread firmware update  for the Galaxy Gio. It has the build date of  june 2, 2o11.  The officiall release is likely to come out soon. The firmware’s default language is Russian, but you can manually change it to your desired language. Till now, no major defects or errors have been reported for the firmware.
