A new trojan has been reported by Kaspersky Lab attacking the Android smartphones. The virus is named Trojan-SMS.AndroidOS.FakePlayer has affected many devices. The virus is yet to be resoved and this had made the phone to send sms to premium rate numbers without the consent of the user.
The virus is supposed to be a file around 13 Kb and is suspected to be Â in the phone’s media player with a standard Android extension .APK. The trojan is have found to send sms to premium numbers after the trojan exists in the device. Kaspersky Lab has recommended the users to pay attention and look into such threats Â as it charges premium costs.
Kaspersky is preparing to release a new antivirus for Android Phones by 2011. It is strictly recommended not to install any media player from any untrusted source unless an antivirus to this is available.
